What the Governor Said

Dr. Hawass and the Supreme Council of Antiquities is unhappy these days as the governor of Giza claimed the great pyramid was started on a date which according to Dr. Hawass is false and not the place for the governor to say.

I think that, all evidence and accuracy aside, it really comes down to:

"Besides, when it comes to recording the history of ancient Egypt, the Supreme Council of Antiquities is the only agency having the authority to do this."

I say lighten up, doc. Let the shop owners have their Giza Day sales! Its not like the gods will actually be angered. Well.. except the SCA..
